Foundation for Indian Children’s Future (FICF) is a non-profit association that aims to support poor and underprivileged children and people in India irrespective of religion, caste or ethnicity, in the areas of education, poverty alleviation and social development through charitable work to transform lives, families and communities by breaking the chain of poverty.
FICF provides educational and social development activities that are carried out through various programs addressing issues on education, poverty, hunger, good health and well-being, women empowerment, opportunity to work and provide livelihood and sustainable income, economic growth, means to clean water and sanitation, and providing relief and aid during Force Majeure.
FICF empowers children, women, families, and communities through its three programs: Child Care Program (CCP), Tuition and Nutrition Program (TNP), and Community Development Program (CDP) in different states in India. The CCP supports children in urban and suburban areas by enabling access to quality English-medium education, helping to expand their long-term opportunities. The TNP focuses on children in rural and remote regions, addressing school dropouts and malnutrition through academic and nutritional support. The CDP provides holistic community-based interventions, including medical camps, disaster relief, livelihood support, and aid for the elderly, widows, single women, and low-income families.
FICF’s work primarily helps advance the Agenda 2030 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 1 (No Poverty) and 4 (Quality Education), while also partially contributing to Goals 2 (Zero Hunger), 3 (Good Health and Well-being), 5 (Gender Equality), 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), and 10 (Reduced Inequalities). Special emphasis is placed on addressing the challenges faced by girls, including school dropout, early marriage, limited healthcare access, and social discrimination. By promoting education, health, safety, and skill development, FICF seeks to empower children, especially girls, and foster inclusive, sustainable communities.
FICF was founded in 2005 and registered under the Indian Trust Act. FICF supports on average about a 1000 children and families are every year in India through its three programs.
